MS. VANESSA WELBORN Ms. Vanessa Welborn, affectionately called “Net”, was born on February 20, 1959 in Sumter County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Tom Welborn, Sr. and Mrs. Clara Welborn Davis, who survives. She received her education in the public schools of Sumter County with the class of 1979. As a fulltime homemaker, Vanessa also made time to work with some of the elderly and disabled citizens of Americus. She was a great entertainer and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Vanessa is preceded in death by her father, Mr. Tom Welborn, Sr. and a brother, Elder Clay. Vanessa leaves behind to cherish her memories and mourn her passing, her mother, Mrs. Clara Welborn Davis, Americus, GA; her son, Mr. Emmanuel (Kenyatta) Welborn, Americus, GA; one daughter, Ms. Shanquetta Gordon, Americus, GA; six grandchildren: Emerial Welborn, Emachiah Welborn, Anterria Sims, Dominique Muff, all of Americus, GA, Deundre Brown, Athens, GA and Kadarrius Terrell, Albany, GA; two brothers: Mr. Tom Welborn, Americus, GA and Mr. Michael (LaKenza) Welborn, Atlanta, GA; two sisters: Ms. Marilyn Johnson and Mrs. LaDaisy (Lewis) Ham, both of Americus, GA; one aunt, Ms. Dorothy Jean Smith, Rochester, NY; three uncles: Mr. Charlie Duke, Edwood, FL, Mr. John Melvin Welborn and Mr. James (Eula) Merritt, both of Americus, GA; seven nieces: Evette, Shalonda, April, Victoria, Kaneshia, Brittany and Tierra; five nephews: Michael, Dione, David, Tavoris and Kenneth; three devoted friends: Ms. Glenda Williams, Ms. Queen Gibson and Ms. Belinda Billings; a devoted cousin, Ms. Linda Ellis; and other relatives and friends, also survive.
