MS. DELORIS McGARRAH Ms. Deloris McGarrah was born in Valdosta, Lowndes County, Georgia on November 6, 1947 to the parentage of the late Mr. Jimmy Lee McGarrah and the late Mrs. Jessie Pearl Lanier McGarrah. She received her education in the public schools of Bridgeport, Connecticut and Sumter County. Graduating from Sumter High School in 1966. At an early age, she joined the Friendship Baptist Church. She was a leading member in the Civil Rights Movement in the early 60’s and was currently serving on the Executive Board of Sumter County Movement Remembered. She is preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Leonard Charles McGarrah and a sister, Ms. Jeanette McGarrah. She leaves to mourn her passing, her son, Mr. Reginald Pernell Wright, Americus, GA; one brother, Mr. Jimmy Lee McGarrah, Jr., Americus, GA; two sisters, Ms. Valerie Anita McGarrah, Americus, GA and Ms. Cassandra M. Boone, Atlanta, GA; two aunts, Ms. Etheleen Watkins, Decatur, GA and Mrs. Minnie (Ralph) Mitchell, Valdosta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends, including devoted and close friends, Ms. Raydell Scaggs, Ms. Peggy of Atlanta, GA, Ms. Emma Kate Lowe, Ms. Jackie Hamilton, Americus, GA and the Honorable mentioned members of the Americus Sumter County Movement Remembered also survive.
