MRS. OSIE CARTER Mrs. Osie Redden Carter was born on March 2, 1950 in Sumter County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Ms. Anna Mae Redden and the late Mr. Clifford Walton, Sr. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. At an early age, she joined the Zion Hope Baptist Church in Desoto, GA where she previously served as choir president, church secretary, and as a member of the Missionary Department. She continuously song praises unto the Lord until our Heavenly Father called her from labor to reward. “Dean,” as she was affectionately known, was a beloved wife, united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Theotis Carter on December 26, 1969 for more than forty-one years. To this union three children were born. She is preceded in death by one daughter, Ms. Brenda Elaine Carter and one sister, Ms. Dorothy Jean Laramore. In addition to her husband, she leaves to mourn her passing a step-mother, Mrs. Leila Mae Walton, Americus, GA; two committed children, Ms. Tarsha Carter and Mr. Keith Carter, both of Desoto, GA; two beautiful grandchildren, Ms. Crystal Walters and Ms. Keeya Little; seven sisters: Ms. Priscilla Clark, Memphis, TN; Mrs. Annie (Ernest) Mercer, Desoto, GA; Ms. Mattie Dowdell, Mrs. Leila Mae Belmont, and Miss Barbara Walton, all of Chicago, IL; Mrs. Hennie (Harry) Coleman, Albany, GA and Mrs. Alice (Nile) Yearby, Americus, GA; seven brothers: Mr. Deotis Harris, Mr. James Harris, and Mr. Clifford (Helen) Walton, all of Americus, GA; Mr. Otis Franklin and Mr. Arthur (Loretta) Raines of Desoto, GA; Mr. Ben (Frenchie) Walton, Columbus, GA; and Mr. David Walton of Chicago, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends, including three devoted friends: Ms. Cynthia Wright, Desoto, GA, Ms. Ann Blackshear, Leslie, GA and Miss Vonnie Walker, Americus, GA also survive.
