MR. WILLIE D. SOLOMON

Funeral services for the late Mr. Willie D. Solomon of 201 Habitat St., Americus, GA who passed on Saturday, January 7, 2012 in the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center will be held Saturday, January 14, 2012 from the Bethlehem Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Sam Solomon, Jr. will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The remains will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the services.

 

 

 

Mr. Willie D. Solomon was born in Sumter County, Georgia on February 5, 1936 to the parentage of the late Mr. Bob Solomon and the late Mrs. Carrie Sims Solomon. He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County. At an early age, he joined the Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was employed by the Sumter County Board of Education Transportation Department. Later he gained employment with Granny’s Kitchen.

 

He leaves to mourn his passing, a devoted son, Mr. Kenneth Solomon and fiancé Ms. Angela Merritt, Americus, GA; three daughters, Ms. Sherry Arnett, Americus, GA Mrs. Marilyn (Sidney) Mance, Kissimmee, FL and Mrs. Dorothy (Johnny) Mathis, Desoto, GA; a very devoted brother, Mr. Sam (Alma Ruth) Solomon, Americus, GA; eight grandchildren, Christopher Mathis, Johnny (Shawn) Mathis, Jr., Jaysheree Wilborn, Timothy Brown, Victor Powell, Reginald Merritt, Jr., Kendrick (Katrica) Solomon and Kelton Mance; his great grandchildren, Jha’neisha Mathis, , Keshawna Mathis, Aeshya Mathis, Kendra Solomon and Madison Merritt; two sisters-in-law, Ms. Fannie Mae Sheffield, Moultrie, GA and Ms. Edna Mae Sims, Americus, GA; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Charlie Morgan and Deacon Ralph (Jurilene) Morgan of Americus, GA;  his devoted nieces, Mr. & Mrs. John (Annie) Person, Fayetteville, GA and Mr. & Mrs. Alfred (Sara) Martin, Jonesboro, GA , and a host of great nieces & nephews, cousins other relatives and friends also survive.
