†††††††† Mrs. Salemia Smith Greene was born in Sumter County, Georgia on May 7, 1933 to the parentage of the late Mr. Arthur Smith and the late Mrs. Lizzie Stewart Smith. She received her education in the public schools of Sumter County. Accepting Christ as her personal Savior, she joined the New Union Grove Baptist Church. On April 21, 1956 she was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Allen T. Greene, Jr., they were happily married for 61 years. To their union seven children were born.


†††††††† She was a matron of the house, who loved to travel and visit with family and friends, shopping, fishing, cooking, especially desserts and she was an avid gardener. She had a huge vegetable garden all her adult life. She took pride in her rose garden, which had many types and colors. She loved the beauty of all flowers. She provided care for her family and neighbors. She is preceded in death by nine brothers and one sister.


†††††††† She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted children; one son, Mr. Amos (Michelle) Greene, Atlanta, GA; six daughters: Ms. Cynthia (Walter, Sr.) Jackson, Americus, GA; Mrs. Marie (Tony) Fomerman, Warner Robins, GA; Ms. Bertha Greene, Americus, GA; Ms. Betty Greene (Charlie), Atlanta, GA; Ms. Alice Greene, and Ms. Annette Greene, both of Americus, GA; one brother, Mr. Johnny Smith, Americus, GA; a brother-in-law, Mr. Stacey Greene, Pensacola, FL; two sisters-in-law: Ms. Bennie Bee McMurray of Miami, FL; Ms. Sherita Green, Americus, GA; twelve grandchildren: Norma Jackson, Emma Jackson, Walter Jackson, Jr., Michelle Jackson, Toni Fomerman-Smith, Tequila Greene, Jasmine Greene, CíMone Champion, Donovan Skyers, Makayla Jackson, Miranda Jackson, and one special and devoted grandson, Michael Allen Greene; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends also survive.
