Mr. George Williams, Jr., affectionately called “Uncle Buck”, was born on August 15, 1949 to the parentage of the late Mr. George Williams, Sr. and the late Mrs. Alice Johnson Williams in Sumter County, Georgia.


       George was the youngest of six siblings. He was educated in the public schools of the Sumter County School System. George worked in construction, and for over 30 years, he was employed by Reeves Construction. He was a member of Old Antioch Baptist Church. George enjoyed singing, and his favorite song was “Singing in the Heavenly Choir”. He also enjoyed being around family and friends. George will be missed and loved by all who knew and called him “Uncle Buck”.


       In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Volley, Sr. and Lenwood Volley, Sr.; two sisters, Emma Mae Walton and Sarah Louise Hall; and one brother-in-law, Johnny Lee Wafford.


       Left to cherish Uncle Buck’s memories are two daughters, Ruby Woods (friend, Travis Milledge) and Ginny Woods, all of Americus, GA; two sisters, Georgia (Rev. Willie Gene) Grover, Leslie, GA and Susie Wafford, Americus, GA; five grandchildren: Bianca Woods, George Woods, Ra’Ohia Price, and Jau’nyia Woods and Jau’nosa Woods; two great grandchildren, G’Marion Woods and G’Kadian Harper;  a sister-in-law, Catherine Volley, Americus, GA; a special friend, Ms. Hannah Luster, Leslie, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including, Adam Battle, Willie McCoy, Robert Johnson, Geneva Woods, Annie R. Tookes, H. D. Woods, Bobbie Woods and Robert McCoy  also survives.
