Ms. Joann Floyd was born in Pompano Beach, Florida on August 13, 1959 to the parentage of the late Mr. Joseph Floyd and the late Mrs. Catherine Crawford Floyd. She received her education in the public schools of Sumter County. At an early age, she joined the Oak Gove Baptist Church in the Huntington Community. She attended the Old Shady Grove and Friendship Baptist Churches. She was employed as a driver with Council on Aging. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.


           She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Mr. Joseph Floyd, Statesboro, GA and Mr. Tyree Barner, Americus, GA; one brother, Mr. Fred (Sophia) Crawford, Macon, GA; one sister, Mrs. Alice (Jerry) Thomas, Douglas, GA; six grandchildren, Dominique Floyd, Janerian Floyd, Quimez Floyd, Janiah Floyd, Skylar Josey Barner and Jamarion Peavy; her aunts & uncles, Mrs. Rose Billy) Crawford, Mrs. Dorothy (Willie C.) Knox, Ms. Emma Crawford, Ms. Mattie Crawford, Ms. Mary Crawford, Mr. Charlie (Diana) Crawford, Mr. David (Mattie) Crawford, Mr. Billy Crawford and Ms. Bertha Floyd, Ms. Priscilla Floyd, Bishop John Floyd, Ms. Lena Coleman and Mr. Robert Coleman all of Americus, GA; a god-daughter, Minister LaShonda (Perry) Burton, Jr., Americus, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, including a devoted cousins, Ms. Maggie Willis, Ms. Cathy Noble, Ms. Ernestine Jenkins of Americus, GA, Ms. Sophia Muldrow, Covington, GA and Ms. Symatha Drains, Buford, S.C. other relatives and friends, including devoted friends, Ms. Patricia Stewart, Ms. Pamela Dowdell and Ms. Cathy Wilkerson also survive.
