MR. JOHNNY GRIFFIN Mr. Johnny Lee Griffin was born in Sumter County, Georgia on August 26, 1943 to the parentage of the late Mr. Eugene Griffin and Mrs. Frankie Irene Covin Griffin, who survive. He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County. He was employed by Piggly Wiggly in Americus, GA for more than 20 years. After retiring he owned and operated Griffin's Painting & Construction Business. He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Board of Deacons, Superintendent of the Sunday School, President of the Choir, member of the Ever Ready Spiritualaires Gospel Singers, St. John Lodge #17 P.M., Royal Arch Chapter #14, OES Chapter #26 and President of the Sumter Benefit Club. He was married to Ms. Vivian Pitts Griffin and to this union two children were born. In addition to his mother, Mrs. Frankie C. Griffin, he leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 42 years, Mrs. Vivian Pitts Griffin; one son, Mr. Johnny (Kimberly) Griffin, Jr.; one daughter, Ms. JoAnne Griffin; two sons, Mr. Eugene (Frances) Griffin and Mr. Kelvin Griffin; his siblings, Mrs. Martha (Mack) Alford, Mr. Eugene (Francis) Griffin, Jr., Ms. Freddie Thomas, Ms. Annie Wright, Mrs. Vivian (Clyde) Jackson, Mrs. Katherine (Sylvester) Jones, Mrs. Mandy (Fred) Jones, Mrs. Peggy (Melvin) Chevis, Mr. Kelvin Griffin and Ms. Mammie Jackson; six grandchilcren,Khordarrius, Avienne, Jaron, Christian, Broderick and Kamari; four great greandchildren, Ken, Shyi, Khord and Kaylen; and a host of sisters & brothers-in-law, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends also survive.
