MR. JAMES A. DODSON

 

Mr. James Arthur Dodson passed away on a sunny Sunday evening after sixty years of life in Americus-Sumter County, Georgia. Mr. Dodson’s parents, Mr. James and Mrs. Georgia Lee Carter Dodson as well as a brother, Mr. Larry Dodson and a sister, Ms. Rosie Lee Casey precedes him in death. “Butch,” as he was known by family and friends, served in the United States Army from 1975– 1979 and was stationed in Ft. Dixon, New Jersey. He worked at Metalux for many years as well as Wal-Mart and Goodwill.

Remaining to cherish his memories; a wife, Mrs. Dorothy Dodson, Suitland, MD; one daughter, Ms. Shalisa Dodson, Americus, GA; one son, Mr. Kelsey (Tamika) Dodson, Suitland, MD; four grandchildren: Tra-Kema Hall, Americus, GA, Relia Dodson, Revlon Dodson and Tyler Dodson, all of Suitland, MD; four sisters: Ms. Cotellia Stewart, Marietta, GA, Ms. Janice Dodson, Riverdale, GA, Mrs. Marilynn (Bobby) Waters, Americus, GA and Ms. Lynette Dodson, Riverdale, GA; one aunt, Ms. Cletha Harris, Americus, GA; one brother-in-law, Mr. Caesar Casey, Hartford, CT; three nieces: Ms. Lutessa Solomon, Marietta, GA, Mrs. Vanessie (Herbert) Green and Ms. Lisa Casey, both of Hartford, CT; four nephews: Mr. Xavier Solomon, Columbus, GA, Mr. Royal Casey, Hartford, CT, Mr. Dendritt Kleckley and Mr. Terrence Shootes, both of Riverdale, GA; a host of great of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including loyal friends, Ms. Charlene Cunningham, Ms. Betty Hicks, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Smith, Mr. Charles “Lightning” Ingram and Mr. James Sullivan also survive.
