MR. FREDDIE McCOY Mr. Freddie McCoy, affectionately known as “DJ Magic,” was born in Sumter County, Georgia on January 26, 1960 to the parents of the late Mr. Walter McCoy and Mrs. Edna Mae Banks McCoy who survives. He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County. He was a machine operator with Tri-wood Manufacturer. Freddie loved music and disc jockeying was a passion that he shared with others when he mixed music together for parties. He was married to the former Ms. Christy Jackson.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Leonard McCoy and Mr. Demoto Tyner.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Mrs. Christy Jackson McCoy, Americus, GA; one son, Mr. Deon McCoy, Americus, GA; four daughters, Ms. Jacinta McCoy, Ms. Temira McCoy, Ms. Latavia Murray of Americus, GA and Ms. Tasha McCoy, Cordele, GA; seven brothers, Mr. Milton (Cynthia) McCoy, Mr. Walter McCoy, Jr., Mr. Alexander (Bertha) McCoy, Americus, GA, Mr. Thomas Chris McCoy, Akron, OH, Mr. Charles McCoy, OH, Mr. Walter Chris McCoy, Mexico, Mr. Carlton B. Tyner, Albany, GA; nine grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Ms. Mary Jane Jackson, Plains, GA; an aunt and uncle, Ms. Mary Dennis, Americus, GA and Mr. Jimmy McCoy, Pittsburg, PA; and a host of nieces, including a devoted niece, Ms. Yashica McCoy, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive.
