MRS. OZIE SIMPSON

         MRS. OZIE BELL CHAMBLISS SIMPSON was born December 12, 1931 in Sumter County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Will and Mrs. Queen Esther Chambliss. She attended the public schools of Sumter County and a graduate of A.S. Staley High School. She was an active member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church and a member of the Vineyard Workers Club. Mrs. Simpson was one of those people who was always concerned about other people. She loved to give cards whether she knew a person or not. She would always want an extra program so she could share with others. She is preceded in death by her husband Mr. Oscar Simpson, Sr.; five brothers: S.T., A.C., Will, David and Charlie; and one sister, Daisy Haynes.

       She leaves to cherish fond memories to her two daughters, Ms. Esther Simpson and Ms. Josephine Simpson, both of Americus, GA; a loving and devoted sister, Ms. Sylvia Hicks, Americus, GA; a loving and devoted brother, Mr. Willie “Willard” Chambliss, Americus, GA; five grandsons: Mr. Kip Simpson, Mr. Kelvin Simpson, Mr. Kristopher Simpson, all of Americus, GA, Mr. Brandon Simpson, Marietta, GA and Mr. Quinton Walter, Decatur, GA; two granddaughters: Ms. Cletittia Yearby and Ms. Tatotshia Grier, both of Americus, GA; three sisters-in-law, Ms. Alma Chambliss, Newark, NJ, Ms. Ollie Simpson, Americus, GA and Ms. Mozell Simpson, Jacksonville, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, including devoted nieces and nephews: Ms. Barbara Hicks, Ms. Maxine Waters, Ms. Josie Simpson, Ms. Esther Chambliss, Ms. Shirlene Chambliss, Mr. Earnest (Erma) Hicks, Mr. Walter Chambliss and Mr. Curtis Simpson, cousins, other relatives, friends, devoted neighbors and her riding friends on the Americus Transit, including Dea. Cecial and Mrs. Barbara Horne, Sis. Vera Brown, Dea. Charles and Mrs. Annie Bell Moss, Ms. Frances Reliford, Dea. Frank and Mrs. Bernice Wiley and Ms. Wanda Dowdell and her beloved church family survive.
