MR. JOHN DAVIS BATEMAN was born in Americus, GA on March 18, 1962. He was born to the late Dean and Mary Alice (Stafford) Bateman. From the moment of his birth, John was destined to leave his mark on the world. Throughout his childhood, he was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. His youth was spent in southern Georgia, where he was a track star while attending Americus School Systems. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Albany State University. During his tenure at “The State”, John became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, Delta Xi Chapter.

John’s next phase began when he transitioned to Atlanta, GA. He then married Angela Cunningham, his best friend and the love of his life, a marriage that lasted 23 years. To this union they were blessed with two adorable daughters, Lauren Marie and Johnna Elizabeth.

1987 is when he began his successful 20 year journey in Financial planning.  His ability to face any challenge, exceed standards, and surpass his competition enabled him to “live the life he imagined”.

John was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Michael Pigg. He is currently a member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Eddie L. Long. He was active in several professional and civic organizations as well as  social activities that include (but not limited to) National Life Underwriters, Deacon ministry at Philadelphia Baptist Church, New Birth Softball Ministry, Annual Gatlinburg Marriage Retreat, Jai Sin Yoga, and Bowling league.

John also enjoyed spending time with family as well as old and new friends, especially with his yoga group members.

In 2004, John was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. For the past 6 years, his belief that God is the Redeemer, allowed him to remain a loving husband, committed father, faithful friend, and loyal servant to the Lord.  His numerous plaques, trophies, certificates, and trips around the world validate his accomplishments, while family and home validated his success. He is truly loved and will surely be missed.
