DEACON JOHN WARE Deacon John Thomas Ware was born in Sumter County, Georgia on July 3, 1940 to the parnets of the late Mr. Ben Reid and the late Mrs. Mary Ware Tyson. He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County. He was a 1961 graduate of Sumter High School. At an early age, he joined the Mt. Salem Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. J. H. Fuller and was ordained a deacon. He continued to serve in that capacity and others after the call of Rev. W. R. Campbell. He was a faithful and devoted member until his health failed. He was employed with the Americus Times Recorder for 40 years as a press operator. He was a member of the GWF Phillips Elks Lodge #691. On April 11, 1971, he married the former Ms. Dorothy Sheffield. To their union two children were born. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Ms. Verna Felica Ware; a sister, Mrs. Sally Harden; four brothers, Mr. Eddie Ware, Mr. King David Ware, Mr. Alonzo Tyson and Mr. Johnnie Lee Tyson; an uncle, Mr. Albert Bivins and a devoted friend, Mr. Wallace Patterson. He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife of 39 years, Mrs. Dorothy Sheffield Ware, Americus, GA; a loving son, Mr. Anthony Ware and his friend, Ms. Tawanna Wright, Americus, GA; three grandchildren, Marquis Ware, Za'shya Ware and A'shya Ware, Americus, GA; one brother, Mr. Horace (Pauline) Tyson, Atlanta, GA; four sisters-in-law, Ms. Lizzie Sheffield, Atlanta, GA, Ms. Annie (Luther) Ferguson, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Ms. Eva Ware, Americus, GA and Ms. Mildred Ware, Boynton Beach, FL; one aunt, Ms. Easter Bivins, Americus, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends, including devoted friends, Rev.
