MRS. NAZRINE MERRITT

Mrs. Nazrine Foster Merritt was  born in Sumter County, Georgia on February 3, 1934 to the parentage of the late Mr. Sam Foster and the late Mrs. Rutha Mae Clark Foster. She received her education in the public schools of Sumter County. At an early age, she joined the Blooming Rose Baptist Church. Later she moved her membership to Healing Temple and continued to serve her Savior. She was employed by Davidson Rubber Company and after they closed, she gained employment with Bobby & Loette Vann. She was loved by her family and she loved spending time with them especially her great, great grandson, James N. Pope-Curtis. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James Brooks, two sisters, Ms. Susie Mae Foster Breedlove and Mr. Eupha Hunt and one brother, Mr. Willie Foster.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Ms. Shelia Smith and a step-daughter, Ms. Claudette Brooks both of Americus, GA; three sisters, Mrs. Janice (Tilton) Harrison, Miami, FL, Ms. Fannie McClary and Ms. Brenda Hamilton, Americus, GA; four brothers, Mr. Ulysses (Annie) Foster, Mr. Prophet (Eloise) Foster, Albany, NY, Mr. Eddie James Foster, New York City and Mr.  Dennis Foster, Americus, GA; one granddaughter, Ms. Monica Pope, Amercius, GA; two great grandchildren, Ms. Alicia Pope and Mr. Brandon Pope, Ameriucs, GA; four great great grandchildren, Mr. James N. Pope-Curtis, Mr. Brandon Pope, Jr., Mr. Jayshawn Pope and Mr. Ashton Pope all of Americus, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends, including devoted friends, Mr. & Mrs. Charles and Gloria Varnum and Ms. Annie Mae Mack also survive.
