MS. GLENICE BURTON Ms. Glenice V. Burton was born in Sumter County, Georgia on December 16, 1946 to the parentage of the late Rev. I. A. Nunn and the late Mrs. Norma Ruth Edwards Jackson. She received her education in the public schools of Sumter County. At an early age, she joined the St. Paul A. M. E. Church, where she was a faithful member until her death. Glenice, had a great sense of humor, she was an avid fisherman and loved basketball and football. She also loved flowers, family feud and chatting with Aunt Martha. She was a person with a big bark, but a gentle giant. A person who loved to help you but didn't want you to give that help in return. A person that spoke her mind. She worked for 31 years for Textron Automotive. She was married to the late Mr. James A. Burton. To this union four children were born. She is preceded in death by an aunt, Ms. Flora M. Wooden and an uncle, Mr. Rudolph Edwards.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Ms. Cassandra Burton, Smithville, GA, Mrs. Tammy Burton (Robert) Mays, Riverdale, GA, Mr. James Arthur (Mattie) Burton, Albany, GA, Mr. Jonathan Glenn (Mary) Burton, Smithville, GA and Mr. Eric D. (Suleania) Bryant, Americus, GA; one brother, Rev. I. A. Nunn, Jr., Bronx, NY; two sisters, Ms. Deborah Nunn, Smithville, GA and Ms. Ivy Nunn, Americus, GA; her aunts & uncles, Mrs. Martha Edwards, Mr. Walter (Anna) Edwards, Smithville, GA, Ms. Ellarease Johnson, Dawson, GA and Ms. Addie P. Owens, Americus, GA; a great aunt, Mrs. Hazel Baker, Americus, GA; a sister-in-law, Ms. Betty Phillips, Mt. Dora, FL and a brother-in-law, Mr. Curtis Angry, Smithville, GA; fifteen grandchildren, Octavia Burton, Trevor Burton, Jarvis Williams, Jaelan Williams, Patrice Durham, Passion Durham, Zikerria Burton, JaHara Mays, JaKara Mays, Zari Mays, James A. Burton, III, Cameron Foster, China Davis, Tatyana Foster and Eric D. Bryant, Jr.; her god-children, Mr. Joel M. Melton, Jr. and Mr. Dustin L. Avery, Americus, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends also survive.
