Ms. Romell Banks was born in Sumter County, Georgia on February 8, 1949 to the parentage of the late Mr. Lewis Banks, Sr. and the late Mrs. Ruby Mae Lillard Banks. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. At an early age, she joined the Union Tabernacle Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by 10 siblings, Curtis Banks, Sr., Lewis Banks, Jr., Queen E. Smith, Alfred Banks, Eugene Banks, Rachel Banks, David Banks, Diane Banks, Douglas Banks, a baby girl who died at infancy and a grandson, Donte’ Perry.


           She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Mrs. Letha (Patrick) Smith, Americus, GA; one son, Mr. Shannon Banks, Abbeville, GA; four grandchildren, Shimon Perry, Tre’Lisha Banks, Damian McCoy, Americus, GA and Jac’quail, Johnson, Fort Lauderdale, FL; eight great grandchildren, Shamod, Rubee, Amyrah, Shimyjha, Syncere, Cody, Ivianah and Damorian; her brother, Mr. Elbert L. Banks, Americus, GA; two sisters-in-law, Ms. Annie Bell Banks and Ms. Virginia Banks both of Americus, GA; one brother-in-law, Mr. Johnny Smith, Sr., Americus, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, including three devoted cousins, Ms. Layvonia Bess, Ms. Lucille Serrano and Ms. Lillie B. Lawson; other relatives and friends, including devoted friends, Ms. Annie R. Thomas, Ms. Shirlene White, Ms. Earnestine Davis, Ms. Patricia Dorsey, Ms. Yvonne McDonald and Ms. Ethel Calloway and her Breezeway family also survive.
