ELDER ISIAH GREEN, JR.

 

Elder Isiah Green, Jr. was born in Midville, Georgia on November 8, 1949 to the parentage of the late Mr. Isiah Green, Sr. and the  late Mrs. Martha Lee Robertson Green. He received his education in the public schools of Florida, graduating from Dillard High School in 1968. On May 28, 1981, he married former Ms. Mattie Pearl Jefferson. For many years, he was employed as a Correction Officer with the Stewart County Detention Center in Lumpkin, GA. He was an Elder at Peaceful Holiness Church in Columbus, GA and also the President of the Brotherhood Ministry. He loved fishing, gardening, spreading the Word of God, attending Bible Study and going out to eat. He loved his family very much.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mrs. Mattie Pearl Jefferson Green, Buena Vista, GA, seven sons, Mr. Willie James (Sharon) Smith, Mr. Elijah Curtis (Linda) Smith, Mr. Milton Jerome  Smith, Mr. Lee Irvin (Sharon) Smith, Mr. Rodrick D. Green, Mr. Casey Barnard Green and Mr. Reginald Dawayne Green all of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; one daughter, Ms. Nicole Keys, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; six brothers, Mr. Larry (Terry) Green, Huntsville, AL, Mr. Leroy (Cassandra) Green, Augusta, GA, Mr. Joseph Butler, Atlanta, GA, Mr. Roosevelt Green, Augusta, GA, Mr. Lonnie Williams, Enterprise, AL and Mr. Lee Green, Virginia Beach, VA; six sisters, Ms. Rebecca Williams, Huntsville, AL, Mrs. Frankie (Frankie) Mae Shular, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Ms. Rosie Walton, St. Petersburg, FL, Ms. Winifred Williams, Norcross, GA, Mrs. Ruth (Robert) Saulter, St. Petersburg, FL and Mrs. Emma Tanksley, Augusta, GA; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Harvey Lee (Rochelle) Jefferson, Columbus, GA and Mr. Jimmy (Alma) Jefferson, Buena Vista, GA; two aunts, Ms. Sarah Green, Fort Lauderdale, FL and Ms. Drucilla Owens, Plains, GA; one uncle, Mr. John W. Green, Fort Lauderdale, FL; 32 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive.
