MR. LEONARD BARTLEY was born in Sumter County, Georgia on June 21, 1921 to the parentage of the late Mr. Lemmie Bartley and the late Mrs. Mary Lou Anthony Bartley.  He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County.  He was married to the late Mrs. Lula Mae Waters.  He was a farmer by trade.  He was a faithful member of the Mountain Creek African Methodist Episcopal Church where he served as a Steward until his health prevented him from attending.
